Koutalas Beach Serifos

Koutalas Beach is a wide and peaceful sandy bay on the southwestern coast of Serifos, characterized by its unique spoon-like shape and its rich history of iron mining. It features a shore of fine sand and colorful pebbles with calm turquoise water that is well-protected from the seasonal winds by the high surrounding hills. The beach is partially organized with some tamarisk trees providing natural shade and a traditional taverna that is famous for its local meze. You can still see the ruins of old miners' residences and rusty loading bridges at the edge of the village, providing a dramatic and nostalgic backdrop to the sea. The water is shallow near the shore and the entry is very easy for all swimmers, making it a favorite for those who enjoy a sense of space and local character. It is a destination for history lovers and those who want a quiet day in a setting that feels like a living museum. The atmosphere is welcoming and reflects the slow rhythm.
