About the Beach

Loutra is the kind of quiet, simple spot on Aegina that feels like a throwback to an older version of Greece. Located on the northeast coast near Souvala, it stays pretty calm and doesn't get the huge crowds you might see in the main port towns. The water is incredibly clear and usually very still, which makes it feel more like a big swimming pool than the open sea. It is a favorite for locals, and you will often see people wading in to take advantage of the natural thermal springs the area is known for. The shore is a mix of sand and pebbles, and while there is nothing fancy about it, there is a nice, honest charm to sitting on the edge of the water watching the small fishing boats go by.
