About the Beach

Maragas is a long and popular sandy beach that connects Agia Anna with Plaka on the western coast of Naxos. It features soft golden sand and exceptionally clear turquoise water that is a choice for swimmers. The beach is well-organized with many sunbeds and umbrellas, though there are still sections where you can find a spot for your own towel. It is a social hub with several beach bars and a large camping site nearby, creating a friendly and lively atmosphere. The water is shallow near the edge and gets deep gradually. It is a destination where you can enjoy all the modern facilities while still being on one of the best stretches of sand in the Aegean. The sunsets from this part of the coast are a feature of the evening. The entry into the water is very easy and sandy for everyone. It is a central part of the island seaside life.
