About the Beach
Pachis Beach is a spectacular and very popular sandy shore on the northern coast of Thassos, located about seven kilometers from the main town and famously backed by a dense forest of ancient pine trees. It features an expansive stretch of fine golden sand and very shallow, crystal-clear turquoise water that remains calm because the bay is well-protected from the strong northern winds by the surrounding green mountains. The beach is well-organized with many rows of sunbeds and umbrellas provided by the stylish beach bars and traditional tavernas that offer a comfortable and social environment for a diverse, international crowd. Numerous large trees reach the edge of the sand, providing a generous amount of natural shade and a fresh, pine-scented breeze that creates a cinematic and well-maintained atmosphere for families and nature lovers. The water is warm and the entry is very easy and sandy for all swimmers, making it a safe and practical choice for a long day by the sea in one of the island's most photogenic locations. Access is very easy via the main coastal road, and there is plenty of parking available for the many visitors who arrive during the summer to enjoy the wide horizon.
