About the Beach

Petrousa is a remote and wild pebble beach located on the southeastern side of Kythnos, offering a true sense of discovery for those who travel off the beaten path. The shore is composed of smooth pebbles and the water is a deep, transparent blue that is exceptionally clean and fresh. Access is via a challenging dirt road or by boat, which ensures that it remains one of the quietest and most untouched spots on the entire island. There are no facilities, no shade, and no signs of modern development, providing a raw and authentic Cycladic experience. The surrounding rocky hills protect the small bay, creating a feeling of total privacy and enclosure. It is an ideal destination for adventurous travelers who want to escape the main tourist flow and find a private corner of the Mediterranean where the only sounds are the wind and the sea. The underwater rock formations are excellent for snorkeling.
