About the Beach

Skilou is a magnificent and relatively secluded beach on the southeastern coast of Kythnos, known for its fine white pebbles and incredibly clear, deep blue water. It is a long beach that offers plenty of room for solitude, as it is located away from the island's main settlements. Access is via a dirt road and a short walk, which helps preserve its peaceful and natural character. The water gets deep relatively quickly, providing a very invigorating and refreshing swim that is typical of the island’s eastern bays. There is no organization or shade here, so the vibe is entirely raw and focused on the beauty of the landscape. It is a fantastic spot for those who love the wild, unrefined energy of the Cyclades and want a high-quality swimming experience in a setting of absolute silence. The clarity of the water and the white stone of the shore create a very bright and powerful Aegean aesthetic.
