About the Beach

Schinari is a beautiful and very popular sandy beach located just a short distance from the northern village of Loutra, offering very clear and calm water. It features a wide stretch of golden sand and is lined with large tamarisk trees that provide generous natural shade throughout the day. The water is shallow and inviting, making it a top choice for families and for those staying in the northern part of the island. While it is close to the amenities of Loutra, the beach itself maintains a very relaxed and unpretentious character. There are a few beach bars nearby that offer refreshments, but much of the area remains open and natural. The proximity to the island's thermal springs makes it a very practical and lovely place to spend a slow, restorative afternoon. The clarity of the water and the easy access make it a very consistent favorite.
