Sykamia Beach is an expansive and wild beach located on the northern coast of Serifos, known for its deep blue water and rugged landscape. It features a mix of sand and pebbles with large tamarisk trees growing near the water edge to provide natural shade. The beach is largely unorganized, though a small traditional taverna nearby offers local food in a quiet setting. Because it faces north, the beach is often subject to the meltemi winds which can create large waves and a powerful sea. It is a destination for those who want to experience the untamed side of the island away from the busier southern coves. The water is cool and exceptionally clean, providing an invigorating environment for a swim. Access is via a winding road that offers panoramic views of the Aegean. It is a spot where you can enjoy the immensity of the horizon in total freedom. You should bring your own supplies if you plan to stay for the entire day.
