Conrad Athens The Ilisian is on Vasilissis Sofias Avenue, a few minutes on foot from Evangelismos metro station and the Megaro Mousikis concert hall, with the Museum of Cycladic Art and the Lycabettus funicular within walking distance. It is a full-service hotel with an indoor and an outdoor pool, the ODEI Wellness spa and four restaurants and bars, so you can spend a day out in the city and come back to swim, eat and unwind without leaving the building.

Rooms and suites

King Deluxe rooms (29 sq m) suit couples and solo travellers, and rooms with a balcony overlooking the pool (33 sq m) give you a little outdoor space. Junior Suites (40 sq m) add a seating area, which helps on a longer stay.

One Bedroom Suites (55 to 58 sq m) have a separate living room, a good fit for families with a young child or anyone working during the trip. If you want the Acropolis in view, book a Premier Acropolis suite (65 to 67 sq m). At the top of the range are the Presidential Suite (124 sq m) and the Royal Suite (162 sq m), with space for entertaining.

Pools and breakfast

The outdoor pool is the place for a swim and some sun between sightseeing, with Ancora Un Po serving Italian dishes poolside. Check current outdoor pool opening times with the hotel. The heated indoor pool is open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 10pm and on Sundays from 9am to 10pm. ODEI Wellness offers saunas, steam, a cold plunge and a range of treatments.

Byzantino Grande Brasserie serves French and Greek cooking under chef Angelos Lantos. Breakfast is served here, with Greek and French dishes such as kagianas and pain perdu, and on Sundays there is a brunch from 12:45pm to 5pm. The Athenian Lounge is an easy spot for coffee, a drink or a meeting. For dinner, Onuki serves Japanese cuisine, while Ancora Un Po is the relaxed choice for Italian food by the pool.

Location and getting around

On foot, Evangelismos metro station (line 3) is about 290 m (4 minutes) and Megaro Mousikis station about 460 m (6 minutes). The Museum of Cycladic Art is about 770 m (10 minutes) and the Lycabettus funicular about 910 m (12 minutes). Syntagma metro station is about 1.4 km (18 minutes), and Syntagma Square and the Panathenaic Stadium are each about 1.45 km (19 minutes). Plaka is about 2.2 km (29 minutes) and the Acropolis Museum about 2.6 km (34 minutes), so for the old town the metro from Evangelismos is the quicker option.

Good to know

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 12pm. Dogs weighing up to 15 kg are welcome for a non-refundable fee of EUR 100, and a dog kit is available on request. The hotel is smoke-free, and smoking in rooms can lead to a cleaning fee of up to EUR 250. Valet parking is available for a fee, and there is no self-parking.
