Where Should I Stay on Psara?

Psara keeps the decision simple, since the island's village holds nearly every room, guesthouse, and small hotel available.

Psara's village, facing the southern bay beneath its distinctive hillside setting, gives the main base, with simple hotels and family-run guesthouses close to the harbor, the museum dedicated to naval captain Konstantinos Kanaris, and the walk up toward Mavri Rachi. Staying here puts the island's tavernas and the Church of Agios Nikolaos within easy reach on foot.

A handful of newer, quieter properties sit a short distance from the center, on the way toward Keros beach, giving travelers who want a bit more space and calm a slightly different setting while remaining close enough to the village for meals and excursions.

Given how small Psara is, staying anywhere in or near the village puts the Monastery of the Dormition, Lazareta beach, and the boat departure point for Antipsara all within reach, so the choice comes down more to picking a specific property than choosing between distinct areas.

Once a stay is arranged, hotels and places to stay on Psara span the village and its immediate surroundings, and booking ahead matters given how limited the island's accommodation actually is.

Psara connects to Chios by a short ferry crossing of about 20 minutes, with longer direct sailings also running from Piraeus, so it's worth taking time to check ferry schedules and book tickets ahead of a summer visit. The village suits nearly every traveler, since it's the island's real center, and staying close to the harbor gives easy access to everything Psara has to offer.
