Getting from Aegina to Parga

If you are heading to Parga from Aegina you are making your way to a Venetian-built harbour town on the Epirus coast facing the Ionian Sea, with good beaches and a relaxed waterfront atmosphere.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Aegina to Parga. It is a mainland coastal town with no connection to the Saronic or Aegean ferry network. Getting there means taking the Saronic ferry from Aegina to Piraeus, which takes around 40 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes, and then travelling by road northwest to Parga, which takes around 5 to 6 hours from Athens via Patras and the Rio-Antirrio bridge.

Getting there by air

Parga has no airport. The nearest airport is Preveza, around 65 kilometres south. Taking the Saronic ferry from Aegina to Piraeus, the metro to Athens Airport and flying to Preveza, followed by a taxi or bus to Parga taking around 1 hour, gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours.

Your best option

Take the Saronic ferry from Aegina to Piraeus and fly to Preveza, then take a taxi or bus to Parga. It is the fastest approach. The KTEL bus from Athens Kifissos terminal also runs directly to Parga taking around 7 hours, which is worth considering if you prefer not to fly. If you are travelling with a car, the ferry from Aegina already puts you at Piraeus with your vehicle, then drive northwest to Parga via Patras and the Rio-Antirrio bridge.
