Getting from Agistri to Anafi

If you are heading to Anafi from Agistri you are making your way from a small pine-covered island in the Saronic Gulf to one of the most remote islands in the Cyclades. It has a monolithic rock rising 460 metres from the sea and almost no tourist infrastructure.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Agistri to Anafi. The most practical ferry approach is to take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, which takes around 55 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes, and then board the Piraeus to Anafi ferry, which runs around 3 times a week and takes around 8 to 11 hours. The connection via Santorini is faster, with the ferry from Santorini to Anafi taking around 2 hours and running 3 times a week in summer.

Getting there by air

Anafi has no airport. The nearest airport is Santorini. Taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, the metro to Athens Airport and flying to Santorini, followed by the short ferry to Anafi, gives a total journey time of around 4 to 5 hours.

Your best option

Take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and fly to Santorini via Athens, then take the short ferry across to Anafi. It is the most practical approach. Come with everything you need as the island has almost no facilities and that is entirely the point of going. If you are traveling with a car, take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and board the conventional Piraeus to Anafi ferry, which takes your vehicle directly to the island.
