Getting from Agistri to Corfu

If you are heading to Corfu from Agistri you are making your way from a small pine-covered island in the Saronic Gulf to the northwestern part of Greece, an island in the Ionian Sea with a UNESCO World Heritage Site town and a lush green coastline.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Agistri to Corfu. No port of Athens is connected to Corfu by ferry. The only ferry connection to Corfu from mainland Greece departs from Igoumenitsa, with up to 18 daily crossings taking around 1 hour 30 minutes. Getting to Igoumenitsa from Agistri means taking the Saronic ferry to Piraeus and then traveling northwest by road, which takes around 5 to 6 hours from Athens.

Getting there by air

Corfu has an international airport with daily connections from Athens. Taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, the metro to Athens Airport and flying to Corfu takes around 1 hour in the air. Total travel time is around 4 to 5 hours and is the most practical approach for most travelers.

Your best option

Take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and fly to Corfu via Athens. It is the fastest and most practical approach. If you are traveling with a car, take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and drive northwest to Igoumenitsa for the ferry across to Corfu, which gives you a vehicle on the island for exploring the coastline and interior villages.
