Getting from Agistri to Kimolos

If you are heading to Kimolos from Agistri you are making your way from a small pine-covered island in the Saronic Gulf to a small white island just off the northwestern tip of Milos in the western Cyclades. It has beaches that see a fraction of the crowds found anywhere nearby.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Agistri to Kimolos. The most practical approach is to take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, which takes around 55 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes, and then board the Piraeus to Milos ferry, which runs several times daily in summer and takes around 2.5 to 3.5 hours. From Milos, the short local ferry from Pollonia to Kimolos takes around 20 minutes and runs daily. Alternatively, a direct Piraeus to Kimolos ferry runs several times a week and takes around 5 to 7 hours.

Getting there by air

Kimolos has no airport. The nearest airport is Milos. Taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, the metro to Athens Airport and flying to Milos, followed by the short local ferry from Pollonia to Kimolos, gives a total journey time of around 4 to 5 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and fly to Milos via Athens, then take the short local ferry across to Kimolos. It is the most time efficient approach. If you are traveling with a car, take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and board the Piraeus to Milos ferry, then cross to Kimolos from Pollonia on the local ferry.
