Getting from Agistri to Pserimos

If you are heading to Pserimos from Agistri you are making your way from a small pine-covered island in the Saronic Gulf to a tiny island wedged between Kos and Kalymnos in the Dodecanese group, on the opposite side of Greece. It has a single sandy beach, a handful of tavernas and accommodation that makes it worth staying overnight rather than just passing through on a day trip.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Agistri to Pserimos. Pserimos is accessible only by local boat from Kalymnos. Getting there means taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, which takes around 55 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes, the metro to Athens Airport and flying to Kos or Kalymnos, followed by the local boat to Pserimos taking around 30 to 45 minutes from Kalymnos.

Getting there by air

Pserimos has no airport. The nearest airports are Kos and Kalymnos. Taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, the metro to Athens Airport and flying to Kos or Kalymnos, followed by the local boat to Pserimos, gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, fly to Kos or Kalymnos via Athens and take the local boat across to Pserimos. Check local schedules on arrival as the Pserimos service is not bookable online in advance. If you want to stay overnight rather than day trip, the local ferry from Kalymnos is the more reliable connection.
