Getting from Agistri to Rafina

If you are heading to Rafina from Agistri you are making your way from a small pine-covered island in the Saronic Gulf to the second most important ferry port serving Athens, on the northeastern Attica coast around 20 kilometres from Athens Airport. It is the departure point for ferries to Andros, Tinos, Mykonos and several northern Cycladic islands.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Agistri to Rafina. Rafina has no connection to the Saronic Gulf ferry network. Getting there means taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, which takes around 55 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes, and then taking a taxi from Piraeus to Rafina, which takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on traffic. Alternatively, take the metro from Piraeus to Athens Airport and then a taxi directly to Rafina, which takes around 20 minutes.

Getting there by air

Rafina has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens International, around 15 kilometres to the southwest. Taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and then traveling to Rafina gives a total journey time of around 3 to 4 hours.

Your best option

Take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, take the metro to Athens Airport and then a taxi directly to Rafina. At around 20 minutes from the airport it is one of the most convenient airport to port connections in Greece. If you are traveling with a car, the ferry from Agistri already puts you at Piraeus with your vehicle, then drive northeast to Rafina.
