Getting from Agistri to Schinoussa

If you are heading to Schinoussa from Agistri you are making your way from a small pine-covered island in the Saronic Gulf to one of the most quietly beautiful of the Small Cyclades, a small island of low hills, olive trees and more than 18 beaches that you can walk across in an afternoon.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Agistri to Schinoussa. The most practical approach is to take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, which takes around 55 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes, and then board the Piraeus to Schinoussa ferry, which runs around 3 times a week and takes around 7 to 8 hours. Alternatively, take the Piraeus to Naxos ferry and connect to Schinoussa from there on the local Express Skopelitis ferry, which takes around 2 hours from Naxos and runs almost daily in summer.

Getting there by air

Schinoussa has no airport. The nearest airport is Naxos. Taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, the metro to Athens Airport and flying to Naxos, followed by the local ferry to Schinoussa taking around 2 hours, gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours.

Your best option

Take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and fly to Naxos via Athens, then take the Express Skopelitis across to Schinoussa. It is the most practical approach. Give yourself at least two nights on Schinoussa and come with everything you need as facilities on the island are limited. If you are traveling with a car, take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and board the direct Piraeus to Schinoussa ferry.
