Getting from Agistri to Sifnos
If you are heading to Sifnos from Agistri you are making your way from a small pine-covered island in the Saronic Gulf to one of the most respected islands in the Cyclades, known above all for its food, a tradition of pottery and cooking that has made it one of the most regarded gastronomic destinations in the Aegean.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Agistri to Sifnos. The most practical approach is to take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, which takes around 55 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes, and then board the Piraeus to Sifnos ferry, which runs up to 4 daily crossings in summer and takes around 2.5 hours on the fast boat and around 5 to 6 hours on a conventional vessel. Total journey time from Agistri is around 4 to 7 hours depending on the vessel.
Getting there by air
Sifnos has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. The ferry from Piraeus is the only realistic option and is considerably more practical than flying given the direct delivery to Kamares port.
Your best option
Take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and board the Piraeus to Sifnos ferry. The fast boat at around 2.5 hours makes for a very manageable total journey from Agistri. If you are traveling with a car, the conventional ferry from Piraeus takes your vehicle directly to Kamares port.
