Getting from Agistri to Sikinos
If you are heading to Sikinos from Agistri you are making your way from a small pine-covered island in the Saronic Gulf to one of the lesser talked about islands in the Cyclades. It has a Chora perched on a ridge above the port and an atmosphere of genuine calm that sets it apart from its more visited neighbours.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Agistri to Sikinos. The most practical approach is to take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, which takes around 55 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes, and then board the Piraeus to Sikinos ferry, which runs around 3 times a week and takes around 7 to 9 hours. Alternatively, take the Piraeus to Sikinos ferry via Santorini and cross to Sikinos from there, which takes around 2 to 3 hours.
Getting there by air
Sikinos has no airport. The nearest airport is Santorini. Taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, the metro to Athens Airport and flying to Santorini, followed by the short ferry to Sikinos taking around 2 hours, gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and fly to Santorini via Athens, then take the short ferry across to Sikinos. It is the most time efficient approach. If you are traveling with a car, take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and board the conventional Piraeus to Sikinos ferry, which takes your vehicle directly to the island.
