Getting from Alexandroupoli to Nisyros

If you are heading to Nisyros from Alexandroupoli you are making your way from the far northeastern corner of Greece to one of the most geologically dramatic islands in the Dodecanese group, on the opposite side of the country. There are no direct flights between Alexandroupoli and Kos without going through Athens.

Fly from Alexandroupoli to Athens and then fly to Kos and take the local ferry across to Nisyros. It is the most practical approach by a significant margin. If you are traveling with a car, drive from Alexandroupoli to Piraeus and board the overnight Piraeus to Nisyros ferry, which takes your vehicle.
