Getting from Alonissos to Antiparos

If you are heading to Antiparos from Alonissos you are making your way from the most remote of the Sporades group to a small island in the Cyclades, just off the western coast of Paros. The two island groups are on opposite sides of the Aegean and the journey requires going through Athens.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Alonissos to Antiparos. Antiparos is accessible only via Paros, either by a 7 minute local ferry from Pounta on the western coast of Paros running every 30 minutes in summer, or by passenger boat from Parikia taking around 30 minutes. Getting to Paros from Alonissos means taking the ferry to Skiathos, flying to Athens and then taking the Piraeus to Paros ferry, which runs multiple times daily in summer.

Getting there by air

Antiparos has no airport. The nearest airport is Paros, though no commercial scheduled flights operate there in 2026. Alonissos has no airport either. Taking the ferry from Alonissos to Skiathos, flying to Athens and then taking the ferry from Piraeus to Paros, before crossing to Antiparos from Pounta, gives a total journey time of around 7 to 8 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the ferry from Alonissos to Skiathos, fly to Athens and take the Piraeus to Paros ferry, then cross to Antiparos from Pounta. The Pounta to Antiparos ferry runs every 30 minutes in summer, takes 7 minutes and carries vehicles. If you are traveling with a car, take the ferry from Alonissos to Volos, drive to Piraeus and board the conventional Piraeus to Paros ferry, then cross to Antiparos from Pounta.
