Getting from Alonissos to Paros

If you are heading to Paros from Alonissos you are making your way from the most remote of the Sporades group to the hub of the Cyclades, on the opposite side of the Aegean. It has one of the most beautiful small harbour villages in Greece at Naoussa, long sandy beaches on the west coast and a position at the centre of the island ferry network.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Alonissos to Paros. The two islands are in different island groups with no sea connection between them. Getting there means taking the ferry from Alonissos to Skiathos, flying to Athens and then taking the Piraeus to Paros ferry, which runs multiple times daily in summer and takes around 3 hours on the fast catamaran and 4 to 5 hours on a conventional vessel.

Getting there by air

Paros has a small airstrip but no commercial scheduled flights operate there as of 2026. Alonissos has no airport either. Taking the ferry from Alonissos to Skiathos, flying to Athens and then taking the ferry from Piraeus to Paros gives a total journey time of around 6 to 7 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the ferry from Alonissos to Skiathos, fly to Athens and take the Piraeus to Paros ferry. The ferry delivers you directly to Parikia port in the centre of the island. Book ahead in July and August as this is one of the most popular routes in the Cyclades. If you are traveling with a car, take the ferry from Alonissos to Volos, drive to Piraeus and board the conventional Piraeus to Paros ferry, which takes your vehicle directly to the island.
