Getting from Alonissos to Skopelos

If you are heading to Skopelos from Alonissos you are making a short hop to a neighbouring island in the Sporades group. It has a densely forested coastline, a Chora of white houses and slate roofs climbing steeply above the port and over 120 churches.

Take the ferry

There is a direct ferry from Alonissos to Skopelos running daily in summer, taking around 30 to 50 minutes depending on the vessel. The fast catamaran takes around 30 minutes and the conventional ferry takes around 45 to 50 minutes. It is one of the most straightforward connections in the Sporades and the most natural next stop when island hopping through the group.

Getting there by air

Neither Alonissos nor Skopelos has an airport. The nearest airport is Skiathos. The ferry is the only realistic option for this short connection and at under an hour it is one of the most effortless hops in the northern Aegean.

Your best option

Take the direct ferry from Alonissos to Skopelos. It is fast, frequent in summer and one of the most enjoyable short crossings in Greece. If you are traveling with a car, the conventional ferry takes your vehicle directly to Skopelos port.
