Getting from Antiparos to Donoussa

If you are heading to Donoussa from Antiparos you are making your way from a small quiet island in the Cyclades to one of the Small Cyclades islands, northeast of Naxos, a natural progression east through the island chain. It has good beaches and a single main settlement with an atmosphere of genuine isolation.

Take the ferry

There is a seasonal direct ferry from Antiparos to Donoussa running in summer on the wider Blue Star and Seajets routes. The service runs a limited number of times per week and takes around 3 to 6 hours with stops along the way. The more practical approach is to take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, which takes 7 minutes from Pounta, continue to Naxos by ferry and then board the local Express Skopelitis from Naxos to Donoussa, which runs 6 days a week in summer and takes around 2 to 3 hours.

Getting there by air

Donoussa has no airport. The nearest airport is Naxos. Antiparos has no airport either. Taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, continuing to Naxos and then taking the local ferry to Donoussa keeps the journey entirely within the Cyclades and avoids Athens entirely. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, continue to Naxos by ferry and take the Express Skopelitis across to Donoussa. It keeps the entire journey within the Cyclades and avoids Athens entirely. Give yourself at least two nights on Donoussa and come prepared as facilities on the island are limited.
