Getting from Antiparos to Rafina

If you are heading to Rafina from Antiparos you are making your way from a small quiet island in the Cyclades to the second most important ferry port serving Athens, on the northeastern Attica coast around 20 kilometres from Athens Airport. It is the departure point for ferries to Andros, Tinos, Mykonos and several northern Cycladic islands.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Antiparos to Rafina. The most practical approach is to take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, which takes 7 minutes from Pounta, and then board the Paros to Rafina ferry, which runs several times daily in summer and takes around 3 to 5 hours. This delivers you directly to Rafina without going through Athens or Piraeus.

Getting there by air

Rafina has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens International, around 20 kilometres to the west. Antiparos has no airport either. Taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros and boarding the Paros to Rafina ferry gives a total journey time of around 4 to 6 hours without flying at all. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros and board the direct Paros to Rafina ferry. It is the most natural and practical connection and delivers you directly to Rafina without going through Athens or crossing the city to Piraeus. If you are traveling with a car, the conventional ferry from Paros takes your vehicle directly to Rafina port, which is just 20 kilometres from Athens Airport.
