Getting from Antiparos to Piraeus

If you are heading to Piraeus from Antiparos you are making your way from a small quiet island in the Cyclades to the largest port in Greece and the gateway to Athens and the wider ferry network.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Antiparos to Piraeus. Antiparos is connected only to Paros by a 7 minute ferry from Pounta running every 30 minutes in summer. The most practical approach is to take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros and then board the Paros to Piraeus ferry, which runs multiple times daily in summer and takes around 4 to 5 hours on the conventional vessel and around 3 hours on the fast catamaran. From Piraeus the metro takes around 20 minutes to central Athens.

Getting there by air

Piraeus has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens International, around 45 kilometres to the east. Antiparos has no airport either. Taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros and boarding the Paros to Piraeus ferry gives a total journey time of around 4 to 6 hours.

Your best option

Take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros and board the Paros to Piraeus ferry. It is the most direct approach and delivers you straight to the port. Book ahead in July and August as the Paros to Piraeus fast ferry fills up quickly. If you are traveling with a car, the conventional ferry from Paros takes your vehicle directly to Piraeus port.
