Getting from Antiparos to Naxos

If you are heading to Naxos from Antiparos you are making your way from a small quiet island in the Cyclades to the largest island in the group, a natural progression east through the island chain. It has a medieval Venetian town above the port, long sandy beaches on the west coast and a mountainous interior of marble villages.

Take the ferry

There is a direct ferry from Antiparos to Naxos running several times daily in summer. The most practical approach is to take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, which takes 7 minutes from Pounta, and then board the Paros to Naxos ferry, which runs up to 7 daily departures in summer and takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour. Total journey time from Antiparos to Naxos is around 1 to 1.5 hours, making it one of the most effortless island hops in the Cyclades.

Getting there by air

Naxos has its own small airport with connections from Athens. Antiparos has no airport either. The ferry via Paros is considerably more practical than flying for this very short Cyclades connection.

Your best option

Take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros and board the Paros to Naxos ferry. It is the most natural and enjoyable connection and keeps the journey entirely within the Cyclades. The arrival by sea with the Portara temple doorframe visible from the water is one of the great Cycladic arrivals. If you are traveling with a car, the conventional ferry from Paros takes your vehicle directly to Naxos Town port.
