Getting from Astypalaia to Antiparos

If you are heading to Antiparos from Astypalaia you are making your way from a butterfly-shaped island between the Cyclades and the Dodecanese to a small island just off the western coast of Paros in the Cyclades, relatively close in geographic terms. It has a Venetian kastro village, good beaches and an atmosphere that rewards those who stay overnight rather than visiting on a day trip from Paros.

Take the ferry

There is a seasonal direct ferry from Astypalaia to Paros running in summer on the wider Blue Star route, and from Paros the short crossing to Antiparos takes 7 minutes by local ferry from Pounta, running every 30 minutes in summer, or around 30 minutes by passenger boat from Parikia. The most practical sea approach is to take the seasonal ferry from Astypalaia to Paros and then cross to Antiparos from Pounta.

Getting there by air

Antiparos has no airport. The nearest airport is Paros, though no commercial scheduled flights operate there in 2026. Astypalaia has its own small airport with connections from Athens. Flying from Astypalaia to Athens and then taking the Piraeus to Paros ferry, before crossing to Antiparos from Pounta, gives a total journey time of around 7 to 8 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the seasonal direct ferry from Astypalaia to Paros when the schedule works for your dates, then cross to Antiparos from Pounta. It avoids Athens entirely and is the most natural approach. If the timing does not align, fly from Astypalaia to Athens and take the Piraeus to Paros ferry, then cross to Antiparos from Pounta. If you are traveling with a car, the Pounta to Antiparos ferry takes vehicles across.
