Getting from Crete to Parga
If you are heading to Parga from Crete you are going to one of the most beautiful small towns on the Greek mainland, a Venetian-built harbour town of pastel houses climbing a hillside above a bay on the Epirus coast, with outstanding beaches and a relaxed atmosphere that draws people back year after year.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Crete to Parga. It is a mainland coastal town with no connection to the southern Aegean ferry network. Getting there by sea means taking the overnight ferry from Crete to Piraeus and then travelling by road northwest to Parga, which takes around 5 to 6 hours from Athens.
Getting there by air
Parga has no airport. The nearest airport is Preveza, around 65 kilometres south. Flying from Crete to Athens takes around 50 minutes and then Athens to Preveza takes around 50 minutes, followed by a taxi or bus to Parga taking around 1 hour. Total travel time is around 4 to 5 hours.
Your best option
Fly to Preveza via Athens and take a taxi or bus to Parga. It is the fastest and most practical approach and gets you there in under 5 hours from Crete.
