Getting from Crete to Pserimos
If you are heading to Pserimos from Crete you are going to a tiny island wedged between Kos and Kalymnos in the Dodecanese, small enough to walk around in a couple of hours with a single sandy beach, a handful of tavernas and almost nothing else.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Crete to Pserimos. The island is accessible only by local boat from Kalymnos, which takes around 30 minutes, or as a day trip from Kos. The most practical ferry approach is to take the direct overnight ferry from Heraklion to Kos, which runs year-round and takes around 7 to 9 hours, and then take the local boat or excursion to Pserimos.
Getting there by air
Pserimos has no airport. The nearest airports are Kos and Kalymnos. Flying from Crete to Athens takes around 50 minutes and then Athens to Kos takes around 1 hour, followed by the local boat to Pserimos taking around 30 to 45 minutes. Total travel time is around 3 to 4 hours.
Your best option
Fly to Kos via Athens and take the local boat to Pserimos. It is the fastest and most practical approach. If you want to stay overnight rather than day trip, the local ferry from Kalymnos is the more reliable connection. Check local schedules on arrival in Kos or Kalymnos as the Pserimos service is not bookable online.
