Getting from Spetses to Serifos
If you are heading to Serifos from Spetses you are making your way from a car-free island in the Saronic Gulf to an island in the western Cyclades, on the opposite side of Attica. It has a Chora that climbs a steep hill above the port in a way that looks almost impossibly dramatic from the water.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Spetses to Serifos. Getting there means taking the Saronic ferry from Spetses to Piraeus, which runs up to 10 times daily and takes around 2 to 3.5 hours, and then boarding the Piraeus to Serifos ferry, which runs 4 to 5 times daily in summer and takes around 2 to 3.5 hours on the fast boat. It is a straightforward two-step connection with Piraeus serving as the natural hub between the two islands.
Getting there by air
Serifos has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Spetses has no airport. The nearest airport is also Athens. Taking the Saronic ferry from Spetses to Piraeus and boarding the Piraeus to Serifos ferry gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Take the Saronic ferry from Spetses to Piraeus and board the Piraeus to Serifos ferry. At around 2 to 3.5 hours on the fast boat the Piraeus to Serifos crossing is one of the more manageable Cyclades connections. Plan your Spetses departure around the Serifos ferry schedule to avoid a long wait at Piraeus. Note that Spetses is car-free so if you are traveling with a car it would be at the mainland port of Kosta, from where you can drive to Piraeus and board the conventional Piraeus to Serifos ferry, which takes your vehicle directly to Livadi port.
