Getting from Tilos to Kos
If you are heading to Kos from Tilos you are making your way from a volcanic island in the southern Dodecanese to one of the most popular islands in the same group, just a short distance to the north. It is the birthplace of Hippocrates, with good beaches, a lively town and ancient ruins that are among the finest in the eastern Aegean.
Take the ferry
There is a direct ferry from Tilos to Kos running 4 to 7 days per week, taking around 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes. It is the most natural and direct connection from Tilos and keeps the journey entirely within the Dodecanese without going through Athens or Piraeus. Multiple operators serve this route including Dodekanisos Seaways, Blue Star Ferries and Saos Ferries, making it one of the most reliable connections in the southern Dodecanese.
Getting there by air
Kos has an international airport with daily connections from Athens. Tilos has no airport. The nearest airport is Rhodes. The direct ferry from Tilos to Kos is considerably more practical than flying for this short island hop given the crossing time of around 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
