Afrodite Manou began her career as a teenager with Mikis Theodorakis before becoming a pioneer of the Greek "social pop" and Éntekhno movements. Known for her witty lyrics and sweet but sharp voice, she has written some of the most enduring radio hits of the last 40 years. In 2025, her work was featured in a retrospective on female songwriters in Greece. As of 2026, she is a respected elder of the music scene, known for her artistic independence.
