About

Born in Tashkent to political refugee parents, Margarita Zorbala moved to Greece in the 1970s and quickly became a muse for Mikis Theodorakis. Her voice, characterized by its ethereal and deeply emotional quality, is synonymous with the "Poetic" and Éntekhno genres. She has released several iconic albums that interpret the works of great poets. In late 2025, she returned to the stage for a limited series of performances at the Herod Atticus theater, celebrating her roots and her contribution to the artistic resistance of the past. In 2026, she is regarded as a living cultural treasure, representing the intellectual and deeply humanistic side of Greek musical history.
