Stratos Dionysiou was the defining male voice of Greek folk music from the late 60s through the 80s. Known for his "heavy" masculine timbre and impeccable phrasing, he dominated the Athenian nightlife. As of 2026, his recordings are still the standard for authentic Laïkó. His legacy is carried on by his sons, but his original hits like "O Salonikios" remain cultural benchmarks for Greeks worldwide.
