About the Beach
Agios Georgios Beach is a small and peaceful coastal spot on Antikythira located near the main settlement and named after the small traditional chapel that overlooks the water. The landscape is defined by its rocky shoreline and the presence of a few tamarisk trees that offer the only natural shade in a largely barren and sun drenched environment. The area remains completely unorganized and quiet serving as a place for the few local residents and travelers to enjoy the exceptionally clear and vibrant waters. The surrounding geography is rugged and modest with the pale limestone rocks creating a simple and unrefined setting that highlights the islands quiet and slower pace of life.
