About the Beach
Potamos Beach is the primary coastal gateway of Antikythira situated within the islands main harbor and surrounded by a handful of traditional white houses. The landscape is defined by its extreme isolation and the rugged limestone hills that rise steeply from the sea reflecting the islands status as one of the most remote inhabited spots in Greece. There is no commercial development or organization here allowing the environment to remain entirely primitive and focused on the simple maritime life of the local community. The surrounding terrain is stark and rocky providing a quiet and authentic atmosphere where the arrival of the ferry is the only disruption to the absolute silence of the bay.
