About the Beach
Xeropotamos Beach is a wild and unorganized coastal area on the eastern side of Antikythira characterized by a landscape of rough stones and low Mediterranean scrubland. The environment is entirely primitive and lacks any form of modern infrastructure or shade reflecting the raw and untamed nature of the islands eastern coastline. Access to the area is primarily via old shepherds paths or by boat which has ensured that the landscape remains untouched by modern tourism. The surrounding scenery is dominated by the desolate beauty of the arid mountains and the open expansive horizon of the sea making it a destination for those seeking a true wilderness experience.
