About the Beach
Anthony Quinn Beach is a world-famous and strikingly beautiful coastal cove on the eastern coast of Rhodes, named after the legendary actor who fell in love with the spot while filming The Guns of Navarone. It features a narrow shore of fine sand and smooth pebbles with intense emerald-green water that is exceptionally clear, surrounded by high rocky cliffs and dense pine trees that reach the edge of the sea. The beach is well-organized with many rows of sunbeds and umbrellas, and a stylish beach bar is perched on the rocks above, offering fresh snacks and panoramic views of the Mediterranean. It is a premier destination for snorkeling and diving due to the rich marine life and the dramatic underwater rock formations that create a natural amphitheater. Access is via a short road from the nearby resort of Faliraki, and there is a large parking area at the top of the stairs. The water is deep and fresh, providing an invigorating environment for a long swim in a cinematic and well-maintained location. The atmosphere is social and reflects the modern spirit of the Dodecanese, though it can become quite crowded during the peak summer months. It is a landmark of the island.
