About the Beach
Camel is a beautiful and somewhat secluded sandy beach located in a steep-sided bay between Kardamena and Kefalos. It is named after a rock formation in the area that resembles a camel, adding a unique landmark to the rugged coastal scenery. The sand is fine and the water is deep and incredibly clear, making it a fantastic spot for snorkeling along the rocky edges of the cove. Access involves a steep drive down to the shore, which helps keep the beach quieter than the more accessible neighbors. It is partially organized with sunbeds and a small canteen, offering a great balance of natural beauty and basic comfort. The water clarity and the dramatic landscape make it a favorite for those who appreciate high-quality swimming. The seabed is a mix of sand and rock, providing plenty of interesting features for underwater exploration. The atmosphere is peaceful and very scenic.
