About the Beach

Mastichari is a beautiful and very wide sandy beach located in a traditional fishing village on the northern coast of Kos. It is famous for its soft white sand and the incredible turquoise color of the water, which often feels more like the Caribbean than the Aegean. The beach is well-organized with sunbeds and is a popular spot for windsurfing due to the reliable northern breezes. The village itself has a very friendly and relaxed character, with excellent tavernas that serve fresh fish caught by local boats. The sunsets at Mastichari are legendary, as the sun dips directly into the sea in front of the beach. It is a fantastic destination for those who want a high-quality sandy shore with a very authentic and welcoming village atmosphere. The wide shore provides plenty of space for everyone, and the water stays shallow and warm for a long distance, making it very comfortable.
