About the Beach

Ammos is the main beach of the island, located right in the harbor of Ano Koufonisi, and it is surprisingly one of the most beautiful port beaches in Greece. It features soft sand and incredibly clear, turquoise water that stays clean and inviting despite the proximity to the ferry pier. It is the most accessible beach on the island, allowing you to jump into the sea just seconds after arriving or while waiting for a boat. The beach is lined with traditional tavernas and cafes, offering a very lively and convenient setting for a swim at any time of the day. The view of the colorful fishing boats and the white-washed village of Chora is quintessentially Cycladic. It is a very friendly and easy-going spot that serves as the perfect introduction to the island’s spectacular water.
