About the Beach

Chrysi Ammos is a total standout if you’re a fan of perfect, powdery sand. The name literally means "Golden Sand," and it’s one of the most famous spots near Marmari for a reason. The beach is a wide, glowing stretch of dunes that slope gently into shallow, warm water that is almost always calm. It’s an absolute paradise for families or anyone who just wants to spend the whole day wading in the sun. Because of the way the bay is shaped, you get incredible views of the Petalii islands across the water. It’s well-organized with sunbeds and a great beach bar, but it never feels cramped because there is just so much sand to go around. The sunsets here are legendary, turning the whole golden shore into a soft orange glow.
