About the Beach

Diakoftis offers a landscape that looks more like the Caribbean than the Aegean, with its incredibly shallow, bright turquoise water and fine pinkish-white sand. It is located on the southern tip of the island and is actually two separate coves divided by a small strip of land. The water stays shallow for a long distance, making it a favorite for families and anyone who enjoys wading in warm, calm lagoons. It is partially organized with a small canteen and some sunbeds, but the surrounding area is dry and flat. It is a unique and very popular destination because of its striking tropical colors and easy swimming conditions. The sand is exceptionally soft for Karpathos, and the lack of rocks in the water makes for a very comfortable and relaxing day. It is a perfect spot for photography.
