About the Beach

Emporios Beach also famously known as Mavra Volia is a unique and world renowned coastal site on the southern coast of Chios characterized by its dramatic and eerie landscape of smooth black pebbles and sand of volcanic origin created by the lava of the dormant volcano Psaronas which contrasts sharply with the deep blue and famously icy crystalline waters in an environment surrounded by tall rugged cliffs and impressive vertical rock formations that provide a primitive and cosmopolitan atmosphere where the seabed takes on a unique dark color and the shore is divided into three distinct sections including the quieter Foki beaches.
