About the Beach
Ermones Beach is a very cool and deep coastal cove located on the west side of Corfu that is surrounded by high green hills and steep cliffs that make it feel like a secret hideout from a movie. There is an old legend that says this is the place where the hero Odysseus from the ancient stories was washed ashore and met a princess, which makes it feel very special and full of history when you are swimming there. The beach has a mix of sand and small pebbles and the water gets deep very quickly, so it is a great spot for people who are good swimmers and love to dive into the clear blue waves. There are a few nice hotels and tavernas tucked into the hills nearby, and a small stream flows right into the sea at one end of the beach, making the water feel fresh and clean while you look up at the massive rocky walls that surround the bay.
