About the Beach

Gialtra is a beautiful, quieter corner of the gulf that feels a world away from the busy tourist centers. What makes this spot truly special are the natural thermal springs that bubble up right through the sand and into the sea. You can actually find pockets of warm, mineral-rich water while you’re swimming, which feels like a free, natural spa treatment. The beach itself is a mix of sand and pebbles, and the water is almost always as smooth as glass because the bay is so well-protected. The surrounding hills are covered in vineyards and olive groves, giving the whole area a very traditional and peaceful feel. It’s the perfect place to head if you want to slow down, enjoy a very calm swim, and experience one of the unique geological quirks that makes Evia such an interesting island to explore.
