About the Beach
Haraki Beach is a charming and very popular coastal bay on the eastern coast of Rhodes, located within a traditional fishing village and overlooked by the dramatic ruins of the medieval Feraklos Castle. It features a shore of mixed sand and large pebbles with calm, crystal-clear blue water that remains well-protected from the seasonal winds by the surrounding rocky headlands. The beach is well-organized with sections of sunbeds, umbrellas, and essential facilities including showers and changing areas, providing a comfortable and social environment for visitors. Several traditional fish tavernas and cafes are located right by the water edge, offering fresh local seafood caught daily by the local boats that are moored in the bay. The water is shallow for a long distance out, making it a safe and practical choice for families with young children who want a peaceful environment away from the larger resorts. The entry into the water is via the pebbles and the clarity is consistently high, allowing for excellent visibility of the seabed. The atmosphere is welcoming and reflects the authentic maritime spirit of the island residents. It is a part of the coast that offers neighborhood charm and a sense of safety for all swimmers.
