About the Beach

Kagias is a charming and very traditional pebbly beach located near the picturesque village of Skala Sikamineas on the northern coast. It features very clear, deep water and a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere that is popular with those seeking a quiet and authentic island experience. The beach is unorganized, though its proximity to the village means that excellent seafood tavernas are just a short walk away. Large trees along the shore provide some natural shade, and the views of the northern Aegean are open and beautiful. It is a fantastic spot for a quiet dip after visiting the famous "Mermaid Madonna" chapel in the harbor. The atmosphere is slow and respectful, capturing the peaceful daily rhythm of northern Lesvos. The clarity of the water is excellent, providing a very high-quality swimming environment in a setting that feels like a secret local sanctuary.
