About the Beach

Tsonia is a unique and very scenic beach located on the northeastern coast of Lesvos, famous for its reddish volcanic sand and small pebbles. The water is deep, very clear, and a brilliant shade of blue, offering an invigorating and high-quality swimming experience. It is a relatively quiet and unorganized destination that maintains a very authentic and local character. A few traditional tavernas are located right on the shore, serving fresh fish and local ouzo in a very relaxed setting. The beach is a favorite for those who appreciate natural beauty and a "back to basics" atmosphere away from the crowds. The surrounding landscape is rugged and green, providing a beautiful contrast to the unusual color of the sand. It is a fantastic spot for a quiet day by the sea where the focus is entirely on the sun and the high-quality water.
